As part of the SR 167 Completion Project, PACE supports the SR 167 and 70th Avenue E. Bridge Replacement project. This project aims to improve regional mobility and support multimodal transportation, including freight movements. The SR 167 Completion Project extends the freeway from Puyallup to a new interchange with SR 509 in Tacoma.
This project involves constructing a new four-lane bridge with a shared-use path over I-5 at 70th Avenue East, widening SR 99, creating a roundabout at the 70th Avenue East and SR 99 intersection, and upgrading the Interurban Trail with a new parking lot.
PACE is designing temporary and permanent drainage systems and utility infrastructure, including TESC (temporary erosion and sediment control) measures for off-site fill. The project also includes water quality treatment and flow control facilities, such as biofiltration swales, bioretention areas, and detention ponds.
