PACE staff provided civil engineering design in support of a new building for the Microsoft Corporation on the former Safeco Campus located in Redmond, WA. The five-story building added over 270,000 SF of new office space with an associated four-story underground parking garage. Work included access road design, ADA and pedestrian access, onsite utilities, grading and retaining wall design, site layout, and storm drainage design, including assessing and analyzing several thousand feet of existing stormwater trunk line to determine its ability to support the required development and potential development within the tributary basin. The analysis supported direct discharge of stormwater, eliminating several million dollars in detention construction. The PACE team’s involvement began with entitlement of the project and continued through construction administration.
