Rush Elementary School
PACE provided civil engineering design and construction support services for the new 65,000 SF Benjamin Rush Elementary School. Since the existing elementary school left little opportunity to construct the new building on the existing playfield, as is usual in school replacement projects, the new school was constructed on the existing building location in five phases. This allowed for students and staff to transfer occupancy from older portions of the school to portions of the new school as construction progressed. PACE also provided site structural design for site walls and underground stormwater detention vaults. Stormwater design used sustainable elements such as bio-retention cells in an effort to increase the natural consumption of stormwater on-site and reduce the amount of runoff from the site.
