PACE is committed to reducing our firm's impact on the environment. We have implemented a variety of company-wide sustainable business practices which have received accolades in the community, including the “King County 2012 Best Workplaces for Waste Prevention and Recycling” and “Sustainable Eastside Green Business Challenge Participant.”
We understand the importance of encouraging responsible stewardship of the environment, not just to our employees, but also to the community.
The following are PACE’s Top 5 sustainable practices:
- Sustainability Committee (Green Team)
An employee-ran committee that is responsible for creating annual sustainability goals, such as energy efficiency, waste reduction, composting, and recycling.
- Vehicle Purchasing Policy
PACE requires company vehicles to meet a minimum standard of EPA Green Gas Scores and MPG ratings.
- Composting and Waste Reduction Programs
Our composting program enables employees to easily dispose of food waste through compost bins. We also encourage employees to use reusable dishes and silverware and provide dishwashers in our offices.
- Energy/Utility Conservation
PACE offices utilize energy-efficient and motion-detection lighting. Computers are set to minimum power when not in use and we have installed low-flow faucet aerators on showers and rest room sinks.
- Electronics Recycling
PACE recycles electronics by using local companies that refurbish or recycle all parts of computers and peripherals. We have teamed with local organizations to sponsor E-cycling events and raise community awareness around the reduction of materials going to landfills.
